DVD Media Canada
Renting DVDs online has been in the media a lot lately. Online DVD rentals is the fastest growing segment of the personal entertainment industry with over three million customers using the services of virtual companies to rent DVD movies and games in Canada, the USA and now in Europe.
There are a number of different companies now offering this wonderful service. The way it works is that the customer subscribes to one of the online DVD rental companies like Netflix, Blockbuster, Walmart, Film Movement, QwickFlicks or Mentura in the States and Zip.ca in Canada. When the customer signs up, they pay for the type of service that they want with the choices being quite wide and varied. The basic and most common service used is the one that costs around $15 to $20 and allows the customer to rent three DVD titles at a time with a monthly maximum that varies from company to company.
The customer then creates a personal “wish list” from the list of available titles on the company’s web page. Then the company sends the DVDs via priority mail to the customer’s address. The customer is normally free to keep the DVDs as long as they desire and then when ready they simply place the DVDs into a preaddressed envelope and mail them back to the company. Once the “virtual” company receives the returned DVDs they mail out the next three DVD titles that the customer had previously chosen. Not only are movies available but also compilations of hit TV series and Playstation and Xbox games.
