Purchase DVDs in Canada
I was visiting my native Canada after working in a mine in Peru for a few years. Before I was to return to Peru I decided to purchase some DVDs there in Canada. Well when I started asking around for a good place to purchase DVDs I was surprised to find everyone trying to discourage me from buying DVDs. People were telling me that the way to go wasn’t buying but rather renting the DVDs through the Internet.
Unfortunately the postal service in Peru doesn’t work like the one in Canada and is not only less prompt but it can at times be very risky to send anything through the mail as it is more likely to disappear in transit than it is to arrive at its destination. In many countries of the world renting good quality DVDs is much easier said than done. I remember from when I lived in Russia that pirated original DVDs were much easier to get than trying to rent them, something that was almost impossible to do. The reason that in many developing countries there is such a small market for DVD movie rentals is because there is such a active market in pirated DVDs and the cost of renting a DVD is often more than outright purchasing one.
When I move back to Canada next year I will be sure and sign up for my online DVD rentals but until then I will have to wait for my store bought new releases to (hopefully) come to me in the mail.
