Zip.ca story
The other day I was talking with a friend from Canada about Zip.ca and he related an interesting story to me about this particular Internet DVD rental company.
He told me that Zip.ca is the largest of the online DVD rental companies in Canada and that the service they provide is terrific and he was explaining a little to me about what it is that they offer.
Now Canada has the second largest land mass of any country in the World but their population isn’t really that large and so as you can imagine they have a lot of wide open spaces. Though they have big cities and metropolitans there are many areas that are extremely sparsely populated and even others where no one lives.
All of this means that while the people living close to populated zones have access to all of the modern conveniences that we in this century have come to accept as normal and in some cases even necessities. The people who live far away from the cities are often times disadvantaged when it comes to things like entertainment and some other non-essentials.
This is where Zip.ca comes in. Because people can rent DVD movies from them over the Internet and have the DVDs shipped to their door many people are now able to have better access to the entertainment industry and all that it offers.
This of course also helps people not feel discriminated against and is helping some of the younger people that live in these remote areas to feel more in touch and connected to their fellow peers that live in large urban zone.
